About Clover-dori Shopping Street
Located in Futamata-cho, Tenryu-ku, Hamamatsu City, Clover-dori is a vibrant shopping street featuring approximately 40 businesses, including retail shops, restaurants, and service providers. Among these, 32 shops are active members of the "Clover-dori Shopping Association."
Several times a year, the association hosts lively events where the street becomes a pedestrian-only zone, serving as a vital space for community interaction. It also acts as a key bridge between urban and rural areas, where residents from the northern mountainous regions of Hamamatsu gather for shopping and social exchange.
The history of this street is long and storied, with shops lining the area since the Meiji era (late 19th century). The official Clover-dori Shopping Association was later established in 1983 to further support and develop the local community.
